The song "Destiny" is dedicated to Victor Jay Solotoff who left this earth on May 21, 2019.

Vic was a dear friend who had an enormous passion for life, music, philosophy, learning, and teaching. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, and I first met Vic at Orange Coast College during the short time that he was a music teacher there, and I was a student. I was truly inspired by Vic and his infectious positive spirit and his vast knowledge especially in music as he had a masters degree in music and another masters in electronic music. As a music teacher, Victor was director of orchestras, jazz ensembles, and rock bands at John Dewey High School in Brooklyn, New York, and later served as band director and Head of Music at Artesia High School in Lakewood, California

We became fast friends and when Vic went back to visit Brooklyn that summer, he invited me to stay with him for a week, so I got to experience the thrill of NYC for the first time with him. He was like that, always selfless, aways thinking about and and helping other people, and he always had a positive spirit and a zest for life.

The news of his passing came came as a shock to my system last Thursday as it was completely unexpected. I hadn't spoken with Vic in about a year, and there was no indication then that it would be our last time talking. I didn't know what to do or think, and all I knew was that I would never again be able to hear his voice (with that thick Brooklyn accent!). I was recording this song at the time when I got the news, literally in the studio with a guitar in hand working out parts.

So this is for Victor Jay Qu'est-ce and may you rest in peace. Any and all sales from the song will be donated to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in Vic's name.
